Cooking With Wine

It’s a familiar tale. Yesterday’s dinner was delicious and paired with the perfect wine. However, the bottle wasn’t finished and there’s extra in the refrigerator door. The weekend is over and there’s not quite enough wine to drink casually and there’s too much to pour down the drain. What should you do?

Cook with the wine of course! Living in San Francisco, we’re shamelessly close to Napa and while we don’t visit all of the time, we do love to have wines on hand from local wineries to pair with special dinners. So, I often find myself with leftover reds, whites, and rosé. Rather than tossing the wine, I fall back on two of my favorite recipes featured below!

Best Ever Gnocchi Bolognese

Savory, zesty, delicious and a little healthier! This is a truly traditional Bolognese with a little flair (herbs + goat cheese, and pillowy gnocchi). This delicious sauce contains white wine–although, you could use a red wine. This dish comes together quickly, is easy to cook, and easier to love.

Rustic Risotto with Roasted Garden Vegetables

Healthy, scrumptious, and flavorful this Rustic Risotto with Roasted Garden Vegetables will have you begging for more. The best part is this dish is ready in under 30 minutes and family-friendly or perfect for a date night!
